I was wondering what people think about when in the HL timeline the game is played out. I'm betting on at about the same time as or before HL because of what is being shown in that presentation room, it clearly shows that the Aparture Science lab is competing with Black Mesa for government...

The whole purpose of a puzzle game is to figure out the puzzle... just try to go about it from another "angle".

That would mean that you'd get caught pretty easily as a scout.

If you have XP you most likely don't have DX10 unless you have some special homebrew version. Anyway, are you sure that you have DX9c installed?
