The setting is Eastern Europe so it would be only natural to hear NPC's or main characters speaking Russian (using subtitles of course). I hope Valve hade time to do some Russian voice work on top of the loads of great features the game already uses. So many ideas, so little time with the...
Downloading an entire retail game seems rather odd. Too much hassle to deal with a download then have to burn it to 3 or 4 cd's. That's a massive download even for people like me with cable. I think I'll avoid the headaches and get mine by mail..
You could challenge people to a multplayer game of soccer with the combine's head, Half-Life style. Use the manipulator to fling the head into the goal. :cheese:
Why the hell would they leave out the Grav Gun? That would make no sense. Valve already have a functional grav gun for the game as shown in the demos so there is no reason to leave it out.
The only possible reason Valve would leave it out is if they couldn't get it to work properly which...
I thought that FS article was lame and very confusing. The author seemed to be saying 10 different things which more or less contradict each other. I'm not saying he should have been overly optimistic but neither did he need to be overly pessimitic. The article seemed like a rough draft that...
I wouldn't be surprised if a game like this requires at least 2 to 4 gigs of hard drive space (maybe more). After all, its the most advanced game ever made.
Not to worry, it seems that Valve is a wholly self-owned company, perhaps owned entirely by Gabe Newell. Meaning that Sierra only publishes Valve games, it doesn't own Valve. MS would have no ownership of Valve or even publishing rights of Valve games if it buys Sierra (thank God).
Good theory by Mullinator, but one reason they may not be Russian:
I don't see why they would be wearing gas masks in that screenshot. There isn't any gas in the air because the civilians are not wearing masks.
I can come up with some creative uses for the watermelon in case you are out of guns and ammo. Like putting a watermelon over a door. When the Combine opens the door and walks thru, the melon will fall and drop on his head, knocking him out. You then proceed to pick up the Combine's weapon, and...
What would be great is a car chase scene with the dune buggies. You have to run because you run out of ammo or there are too many Combine soldiers to kill. The only way to get away in time is to find the dune buggy and drive away.
You find a dune buggy and drive away but the combine have...
