that thing...with the hand/face...thats pretty messed up.
That story exerpt is really great too, very nice work.
Just an idea, but I think it would be pretty cool if you put in a stamina system, and make the default moving speed a walk, so you could walk and then sprint for a short...
you miseed what he said: he said "and then camp it" which would still work, even if that weapon couldn't be transferred to other maps. the guy would just sit there and kill anything that came near his/her map.
still, it sounds like an interesting idea, and could be good if executed properly.
I really don't know why they would be so worried about that...I mean, it will be freely distributed over the net anyways...and its not like you could hack the SDK and be able to play Half-Life 2 in its entirety.
The Hobbit? yes, Childeren's book..albeit, a mature child's book (what with a huge war, and the slaughting of a giant Orc)
The Lord of the Rings? I suppose they could be childeren's books...if Childeren all of a sudden take great delight killing on a massive scale.
if you changed everything in a LoTR mod that was copywrited, it wouldn't be LoTR anymore.
Character names, Locations, and other things are all copywrited, not just the title.
well...considering that Time Travel is considered possible...this mod is very possible.
Modding experience isn't required to make a mod, you just have to have a good work ethic, the willingness to learn, and some artistic capability (be it imagination, or the ability to draw..doesn't matter)...
Does any one know how to take a sound file, that is fairly low quality (taken through a PC Microphone, and recorded with Windows Sound Recorder) and make it sound more professional?
That is, without re-doing it in a recording studio.
well, as long as it isn't during an online match that the download takes place I don't have a problem with it.
Like if the download takes place before the server list shows up or something, thats fine...or even if its part of a separate program that downloads it.
Its bad enough playing...
I read that interview, and the Steam Anti-Cheating thing caught my interest.
What would constant updating of the code base to for 56kers who want to play online?
I'm a 56ker, and before you ask, No I cannot in any way get high-speed internet. Regardless, being a 56ker I don't really feel like...
