Today, Steam introduced a new Steam Reviews beta. The new feature will allow Steam users to write, read, and rate customer reviews about all games on the Steam Store. The review system will replace the now-retired “Recommendation” system on Steam, with the previously-written recommendations now...
When did they say it's not Source 2? Personally, I don't think it's very likely that they're working with Source 2, but I don't recall them explicitly saying it isn't.
Also, their official post from two days ago specifically states that they now have "full access to the Source engine" thanks...
I also heavily advocate for Source 2 to include this sort of technology. I have a lot of confidence that Valve could pull it off, too, since it's been done before. Quantum Conundrum pulled off this sort of dynamic loading which circumvents all load screens after initially loading the game up...
Well, I've joined, but I only own one computer, so I won't be able to do much if I'm selected. Guess I should just hope that, if I get in, I'm also selected for the Hardware Beta. The odds are totally in my favor.
As someone who lives in New Mexico, I assume that Black Mesa is more or less a fictional take on Los Alamos National Laboratory, which would place it somewhere around Los Alamos, NM. Alternatively, there are quite a few actual summits named "Black Mesa," many of which are in New Mexico. Click...
That is really amazing. It reminds me in a huge way of the movie Hugo, except this is honestly way more impressive -- not to mention that it's actually real. Many thanks for sharing.

*(The entries denoted with an asterisk are anime movies. Some people particularly like anime and some dislike anime, so I've...
If they can pull it off well enough, all I really want is dynamically loading maps, to completely eliminate loading screens once the game is loaded up. Quantum Conundrum pulled this off, but it was optimized very poorly.
Beginning today and running through November 11th, the fifth annual Scream Fortress Halloween Special is now live. The update brings with it the Payload Race variation map "Helltower", Spell Books, 100+ new community-made items, eight new Helltower-themed achievements, and The Witching Hour...
As much as I dislike Sarah Silverman, I enjoyed this movie too much for her presence to bother me. I even liked her character. Also...

Cool stuff. Personally, I'm not interested in AR tech, but the new VR addition sounds interesting to me. I'm not saying it will match up to the experience of Oculus Rift, but I think I'll keep an eye on this CastAR thing. I still can't say I understand how it works, though. For example, how does...
