I can't access steam or even valves website. Both seem to be down. Guess some hacker agrees with Ascension.

Maybe it isn't a false alarm. Now it clearly says "Express exhibitor search 2013" to the right on this page: http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/ausstellersuche/index.php If you press "Express Search" and then "V" the first result is Valve! :D

I think it's interesting that unforeseen consequences, which valve mentioned in that tweet, is the... third! chapter in Half Life 1! :)
