Mike Booth, founder of Turtle Rock, calls them Zombies in a video I have seen recently. That makes them Zombies to me. Here is the vid: link.

Cross play would have been a good feature. We'd have shown the console fanbois a thing or two about the superiority of a mouse/keyboard. :p
