In my multiplayer map, i have a bathroom with the the regular accessories.. but i would like some bathroom mirrors.. is it possible? and if so, will it take down the fps in a big way?
Ok that was it, i got it too work.. But my understanding was it converts tga's into vtf's that i can use in the sdk... but all it does is copy tga's? Im confused?
edit: it just copies the tga into the sdk src folder and a readme as well.. there is no vtf present?

I think i might, Im still stuck on this new gui unit bob made... i extract it to desktop and try to open it.. but it terminates.. do i need to put it in a certain folder?
Yes i still have the jpegs, so your proggy just eliminates the need for wad's.. ic.. i extracted it to desktop.. how does it work? it terminates as soon as i open it.?
LIMP I JUST GOT IT TO WORK... the problem was that i created a folder in the materials folder called "serving" and put my vtf and vmt in there.. i just took them out into the main materials folder and it worked!!! Thank you for your constant help, otherwise i would have given up hope !!
I have msn msnger... and yeah i have them both spelled "Serving" and they are both in the cstrike materials folder...
I just tested in a test map, and the "image" scrolls.. but the image is just purple and black checkers..
is it just vmt file and vtf file.. thats all i need?
So in total there is only 2 files? i have the VTF files in the cstrike materials folder, as well as the VMT readme file with coding..
And its all up to snuff with the texture name being "serving"
edit: i got it to show up in the texture browser.. just deleted one of the readme's and...
I have my tga in cs:s/materialssrc.. i drag and drop the file into vtex, it creates the vtf file in materials and makes a readme in the src folder, both of these end up in the materials folder, and thats it? with the coded lines that is.

I would watch the video tut if you made it on how to make custom textures for cs:s.. i get my jpegs into wad's using wally... but i dunno how to make the wad's vtf's in hammer?

Im sure once i understand it will click.. but right now im confused between the steps after i make the tga.. how vtex converts it, which line is the line for the name...
CS:S would be more tactical play.. and hl2dm.. would be a one timer.. that few would play.
Id say work hard, for cs:s and put lots of depth into it, and youll have a winner.
I get confused around the part of the "basetexture" and scrolltest.. what are the actual words you will see scrolling in yours?..
I have my 32bit tga ready.. but how do i "point" where it goes? im lost.
Looking good so far, keep up the good work.. It would be nice to add in a few source additions, like bumping.. and some cool effect to make it a bit newer..
