Congrats, you must have ad block. They dont seem to appear in this forum, but then again noone really uses the buzz words here either. They are all over the HL2 forum.

They dont care about the community, so long as we pay thier bills. It is absurd for this too last this long in spite of what the community thinks. Despite how any one individual might feel about the ads, the fact that 80 of 100 of us (and imo at least 80% of us on the whole) feel the ads should...

Vehemently against 'in-post' ads. I honestly click on banners if Im intersted (Or if the have a shooting game in them :P) and I dont want to have to install ad-block. Hell sometimes when Im bored I just click them for the hell of it. I expect a website to have advertising and I dont expect it to...

THis is the case imo. Thats why they never announced it, thats why they wont answer our questions and ignore our complaints. They just want to exploit the site while they can. I think they just got bored with this hobby and doesnt want to deal with it without some kind of return...hope Im wrong...

Ads only make money on click through, so unless you an a few dozen others are actually clicking on these ads, they arent creating any revenue for this site. As far as the "scroll down" comment, maybe your thinking of banner ads? Im not oppsed to those...or nearly any ads short of the ones...

Good point Gatos_7, it nice to come to a place where you feel like your either forced to "deal with it" or leave aint it? Those ads are only usefull if we click on them, and scince most people here are annoyed by them and wont click on them...whats the point? Dont count on the color...

News casts use stock footage as filler if they dont have decent footage ready, I dont see why they wouldnt do it with sounds. In any case, There are a million companies selling sound effect packages, and I would be suprized if this comes from one of them.

What newscast did you watch? Not that I actually care, but lets pretend for a moment that there is an ounce of validity to your claim, or that it matters even if your assumptions turned out to be true.

We could all "sign it" kinda....we could make the picture, then use a photo montage program to re-create the picture using our avatars :P It would have to be fairly large...at least poster size...but that seems perfect anyway.
