Man! What are the yproviding daily tours now? It used to be a special thing to visit that place, now there just letting any ol freaks in! (j/k)
Seriously, what's the deal with all these visits lately? Is this some sort of schmoozing thing?
Is anyone here going to trust Steam with their Credit Card Number? I sure as hell won't. Especially after some hacker just took the whole game and source code tree right off Valve's own servers.
Well, when you put [ ] around text in a quote, it means that particular word is IMPLIED, but was not actually spoken by the person being quoted. And Vivendi said April 2004 so that's probably what Gamespot is going on.
I hope your right. I know Limelight is supposedly just a Host, which is nothing requiring major Steam changes. I'm just more concerned about Steam itself being ready. Valve seems pretty adamant on having Steam ready for the HL2 release, even if it means delaying HL2 until Steam is proven worthy...
Isn't Carmac also helping to build a rocket engine to send someone to the moon or Mars? I forget where I read that, but it was a few months ago and really impressed me.
Having tough copyright laws is a GOOD thing. Countries that don't care about copyrights generally have bad economies because why would anyone want to make, invent or create something when you could get ripped off and make no money for it? Or some other person or group goes and makes money off...
Russia has not been very friendly to the US in past years. Nonetheless, I don't think they would approve of the selling of stolen merchandise - especially if they are not recieving taxes or some sort of compensation.
I'm not voting until I see some Doom 3 BINK videos to compare to Half Life 2. OpenGL games look awesome when they are in motion. Sometimes screenshots don't do a game justice. And who can really say HL2 is the best? None of those games are out yet for us to play or test. Voting on screenshots of...
That's gotta be a pro job - the pirating/translating, not the game itself. For someone to not only steal the beta, but then to go in and translate all the text into russian is pretty impressive, if not dispicable. Then they make up a box and put on some unofficial artwork... there's gotta be an...
Half Life Radio is a complete joke. Remember when we were wating for an interview with Valve? And then it turned into a call-in from Valve. Then it turned into a visit to the offices for an interview by one of HLradios flunkees.
THEN we find out the moron they sent to the office just played...
Gamespot contacted Valve and Dave Lombardi, Valve's head of PR, e-mailed Gamespot back and confirmed it himself. Why would Dave Lombardi and Rick Ellis both throw this out to cause rumors? Especailly since all the Beta/Source Code rumors finally died down? And the already disappointing April...
Annoyed them? What, we have to tend to their feelings or something? If ANYONE is doing the annoying, it's VALVE.
If Vivendi comes out in the next week and says no SDK for 6 months, Valve is toast.
VALVE Confirms SDK is due in next few weeks
