i think he means the rectangular area with the boat in the middle and docks on three sides. First, destroy the two apc's. Then hop out of your boat to go under the dock (you can on one side). Then go around behind a shipping container and you'll see two barrels which you blow to open the doors...
yes, the airboat sequence was too long with no real recapitulation of the plot. Also, I was bugged by how the resistence stations were so poorly hidden. Come on! The Combine with advanced technology couldn't find those things? Finding how to get into them should have been part of the puzzle...
I agree with that a sniper rifle in sp would just be redundent with the crossbow. Why though can't you fire most weapons when zoomed in? I don't get that. It's not like any of them are accurate at all (except the pistol). Also, the zoom key should have an option to be used as a toggle.
so does -console make the game open up to the console instead of the opening level? Does it do anything else that the checkbox in the options does not?
I'm talking about picking it up with your hand. Bet you didn't think of that. :smoking:
One time, I picked up a tiny bit of debree next to the nade. Why do they even allow you to pick up small debree? Seems pointless.
Didn't the difficulty setting pop-up when you started a new game? Besides, it's the first thing when you hit options: what kind of a gamer are you that doesn't hit options the first moment the main menu comes up? :rolling:
Oh, to add to my thoughts above: why don't they make the medical...
I made the mistake of playing on hard the first time. Frankly, i just wanted to make sure I was seeing enemies act their smartest, but I was never terribly surprised by their behavior. Going through normal now, and as far as I can tell, hard just seems to allow the enemies to take more hits and...
What you need to do is in the house where Gregori first appears.. Use the front door (and do something about those nasty flames if you don't want to lose health doing it).
I analyzed it, and my hl2.gsc file had 2,112 fragments! haven't finished defragging yet, but this should help a good bit reducing load times.
this may be a common problem due to the way it was downloaded over many weeks in pieces. I suggest you check yours, especially if you installed it on a...
I went to the effort of not revealing what comes after the part we were discussing, you can too. People don't want to know what the order stuff they haven't seen yet is in.
wow, I'm so sorry. Seriously, not just bragging, but at 1600x1200 with full detail, 2x temporalAA, and 8x AF (on a x800xt, athlon64 3000) , the game looks fantastic. I do get hitches (the game hiccuping and pausing for a second, but only when new textures are loading or during a big explosion...
All spoilers ok for people making it to night on the first day.
I will third this motion. The first part after things go on too long without story development. Though much of it is really cool, the section got me worrying that the rest of the game would be plotted this thinly. Once you get...
SMT might be right about the legal thing. Remember that HL1, unlike CS:S, is a HL property and therefore VUG gets some control over it. Non-HL games, though also published through vivendi (CS and DOD), I think have a different deal.
This just doesn't make sense if he's talking about CS. He wouldn't have to play it to predict CS with updated graphics will be popular.
I'm betting one of three explanations:
a) there still is an mp kept from the reviewers
b) there was mp, but it was scrapped
c) mp has been saved for...
It could actually be gold now but not announced so do to the legal dispute. We will probably find out very soon after Oct 8th. If the parties reach an agreement about the release (but not who gets the revenue) then it could be very soon after that.
