It's not coming tonight. There are a few more things that need to get into the SDK before release.

Hi again jay,
Sorry to...
I think that people should need licenses to use the internet. Cause otherwise it'll be overcrowded with fools who make stupid threads like this.
Pointless, yes.

don't believe the hype, it hasn't been banned yet and it dosen't look like they will.
I sent an email to valve asking if they had any updates about the SDK's release, here's the reply I got from the magnificent Jay Stelly

We don't have an update for you yet - but...
I remeber that mod, t'was awesome. Anyone remember my aircraft carrier blimp? You probably wouldn't cause the damned thing made servers crash.. ah those were the days
We plan on implementing this in our mod.. tho not so others in multiplayer can see what you're browsing, as that would open up lots of hacks, etc. Rather, just a 3d window where you can type in a URL and browse the pages (with the same crosshair interface as doom3).
I can't tell you anything...
Dystopia are hoping to release a public beta early next year. We're optimistic about getting it done quick, as we have already coded most of the features of our game as a half life 1 mod, and it's supposedly quite easy to port that code over to hl2. Time will tell, and may the best team win ;)
That file has been replaced with FileSystem_Steam.dll. filesystem_stio.dll is only used if you run a local server without connecting to steam (which won't be possible anymore?)
It's the last pre-load for half life 2. The latest preload file includes all the compiled maps, and the server.dll &...
SDK info
I sent an email to Jay Stelly (Senior Software Development Engineer @ valve) asking about the release of the SDK (in light of CS:S's release), and here's what he said:
Sounds like good news to me :)
You can have crossbow bolts effected by gravity in hl1, even in quake1. The problem is, it's tricky to make it realistic and usable/fun at the same time. You really need to tweak the speed and amount of gravity on a x-bow bolt to make it fun.
The .jpg images aren't actually used in-game, rather they're used by mappers when browsing the models directories. This makes it easier to find the model you want to place in your map/etc
It's been said before, but i'll say it again, CS:Source is the only multiplayer component that will ship...
