What is the difference between reflect "world" and reflect "all"? It seems like they should be the same thing to me. What could there be that is not in the "world"? Also, HL2 recommends 4xAA and 8xAS for my hardware. Is there really any visible difference if I go with 6&16? Like what would...
Or unless you really happen to like starting with all of your ammo (which may be close to completely full) rather than whatever they decide to give you.
Yeah, I don't know anything about the best OC for that, but I think better cooling would probably help your GPU. I don't know what you have currently, but this is what I've been thinking of gettting myself: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-186-116&depa=0
Yep, x800 PCI-e is teh ownage! Actually, I haven't used mine yet since I don't have XP and I need to reformat... anyways, the price was certainly good though.
Oops, I'm sorry. Apparently I got in trouble for flaming John near the beginning of this thread. I was really just messing around, I'm sorry about that.
STFU n00bs. Here's what I found:
Minimum requirements for the preview call for an 800-MHz Pentium III processor, 256MB of memory, and a graphics card with 32MB of video RAM. Such specs are beefier than XP requires, but Longhorn-capable systems should be commonplace by the time the OS ships...
Though the bandwidth of PCI-Express is double, it does not really offer any performance increase right now. That card would actually have lower performance (for current games where it would even matter) because it only has 128MB of memory, rather than 256. I do not know if a 6600GT 256MB PCIe...
My new rig will be up and running soon, and I'm thinking of OCing the hell out of it (or at least messing around with it anyways). I don't have any thermal gel, and I was thinking of getting this: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-100-007&depa=0. What do you guys...
It looks to me like anything above 6000 is really good... My new system will be running soon, and I will post its marks then. I noticed that someone used "SuperPi" as a bench mark. FYI, PiFast (v 4.3 by Xavier Gordon) is much faster and even on my current setup (which is not as good as the one...
I just got a 500W PSU, is 30A on the 5V rail enough for my new rig (below)? The 3.3V rail is 28A and the 12V rail is 34A. I think those should be fine, just wondering.
Well, I suppose one thing that would be helpful to know is exactly what kind of "CDs" you are having trouble with. Like, did you buy them, or are they burned? What do they have on them? Stuff like that. I'm not sure if I will be able to help, but that will help others help you, at least.
Exactly X-Factor (and others), Dell could be pretty good, depending on the specs, but it's pretty much for people who want the computer built for them. Needless to say, I will always build my own. And about the $300 thing, I think since his dad works for them, or whatever he said, he will be...
That's just ridiculous, four GPUs? I just build a new rig (take a look below) and if you need anything better than that (besides switching to AMD, if you prefer, or adding a sound card), then... I wouldn't know what to say to you. I guess that must mean you are quite rich and really don't care...
I finally have all the hardware for my new rig. At first I was having trouble with the hardware (it turns out that my processor was overheating), but thanks to ABIT, the hardware is working fine now. The software side is where I'm having troubles now. Apparently, though I already heard it in...
