    I would say Gentoo (www.gentoo.org) if you really want to LEARN linux. Otherwise, Mandrake if u just want to install it to see what it is like. Debian is like gentoo but I find gentoo's portage system much more inteligent. That's not to say Debian is bad however.

    Lindows I belive uses the WINE project to run windows apps. That's fine however it doesn't have sophisticated enough DirectX abilities. That means it'll play Half-Life (DX6) but not Half-Life2 (DX9).
