It is rather annoying and everytime it auto saves my game locks up for a few seconds

Is there a way to turn off the autosave fuction?

I think this is the place to post this. During the time I play it plays smoothly almost no problems at all my only problem is it randomly locks up and like voices constanly repeat them selves for a few seconds than the game kicks back to normal again. WHy is it doing this?
