Valve have published a different look at The International 2012 from behind the scenes, showing the teams at Valve HQ in Bellevue prior to the tournament starting and following them during the event at PAX this year.
If you missed The International 2012, Join Dota's Long Live The...
We're glad to announce a partnership with our friends at Combine OverWiki, the original Half-life and Portal wiki, which launched in 2006. It has grown to be the best resource of information on the Half-life universe and we're very happy to be working with them by providing a robust hosting...
I think you're right, a lot of time will go into the Dota 2 & CSGO pro scene development. While SC2 drops off, a nice void is opening up for Valve. LoL & Dota 2 on the MOBA front and CSGO on the FPS front. I'm skeptical that CSGO is going to make the grade though; it's going to need a lot of help.
Gabe's birthday has come and gone but you might have heard some fans paid him a visit on his special day. The lengthy Q&A session with Gabe was recorded and uploaded to youtube, in which the fans asked a huge array of questions including what on earth the space game 'SOB' was? Gabe said:

To be fair, the imagination of game developers with regards to achievements is pretty short. You get achievements for starting a game or creating a short-cut on your desktop.
Perhaps a bit of a flowery alliterative way of saying Valve are throwing a Steam Halloween sale! (After all we need another sale event for that increasingly busy looking calendar). A press release from Doug states a huge selection of games are discounted for the Halloween period including Alan...
The first time round, 10 titles were Greenlit for Steam but today Valve have announced an additional 21 further titles which have been given the thumbs up by the community. Great to see a few more Source mods making the list including Neotokyo & The Stanley Parable: HD Remix.
Afterfall InSanity...
In the loop at the moment, just finished building my new PC too. Lots of echoing of Vegeta pretty much.
Intel, i5 for sure. The mobo you picked is excellent. SSDs are price crashing at the moment - look into the Samsung 830 series for good value 120GB drive for OS. Best value HDD's right now...
Firewall issue or conflicting program perhaps?
I've seen issues in the past where Steam just refused to install properly on some machines. If you have another PC you can install Steam onto, then copy and replace all the /Steam folder on your PC with the problem, you may be able to get around...
Usually laptop keyboards come as one big part with a plastic backing and the keys sprung to that. On the underside is a ribbon cable which goes directly into the laptop mobo. It is probably quite likely the wax hasn't got to anything important. Usually removing a keyboard is quite simple, search...
I believe, technically, that you don't own your Steam account, that is also Valve's. And as such...it's breaking their terms to attempt to sell it. Valve scour common places where Steam account sales occur (and also probably have other means of checking, like IP traces etc). They disable those...
I don't think it was always there Luke but I recall when it was added as part of a major TF2 update. I forget which one, I'm sure someone will correct me. But in terms of going forward, it's not new. I'm thinking it was added when payload race was brought it...maybe?
From what I've read, the EULA changes have ensured Steam is exempt of the laws which the European Court ruled on, of allowing the resale of software licenses. Unhappy with that, the VZBV have reacted.
In August Valve updated the Steam EULA which some people objected to. The changes were in response to the European Union Supreme Court which stipulated that software licenses should be available for resale, something Steam does not allow.
Additionally, by declining the EULA you are prevented...
