I agree The Witcher's combat is pretty shit compared to some industry competitors: Mass Effect 2/3, Kingdoms of Amular, Shadow of Mordor. I get that they're not exactly as depthy as The Witcher, but I don't really give too much of a shit about nitpicky shit like the alchemy system and intense...
Yeah I think we just enjoy different kinds of games, which is actually pretty awesome when you think about it. It helps me learn to play other genres and stuff more.
That probably has something to do with age group. Those are favorites of mine too. However, The Last of Us I genuinely believe is some kind of triumph in gaming. I think it does almost nothing wrong besides maybe overdoing violence sometimes. It's an incredible game.
God this is a bit pathetic maybe but right now I think my favorite game is seriously ****ing Sleeping Dogs... still.

I REALLY hope Blade Symphony gets more attention. It continued where Jedi Academy type combat left off. The only thing that keeps me from playing is it needs a lot of polish.
My purchasing of this game depends entirely on if the combat system feels up to date with other games in the genre. TW1/2 were not playable to me because the brutal/adult setting immersion felt impossible with enemies who didn't filch, a horrible projectile / control scheme and flimsy sound...
