Half-Life 2:
-the dust when the bridge breaks looks slicker than in previous games: the new particle system?
-when a chunk of asphalt with a white line painted on it breaks, the white line apparently is painted on what should be the inside of the rock as well! Bit overzealous with the paint...

Cliffe: All three videos were recorded w/ the same engine build. The different art styles use different shaders though, as appropriate.

No. The game is very very short, and not really finished (since they got hired by Valve and put to work on something else!). In the Showroom you can see the boss, but he doesn't really work in the game.
The instructional drawings are pretty amusing though: you can see where they went with...
It is in the HL universe: Valve has said so for sure. They would most certainly use human beings as test subjects, especially if the thing is highly dangerous...
Can you confirm that they are going to update/fix those awful fire effects that only work horizontally and are revealed to be 2d sprites when viewed from above? If portals is going to have us flying all over the place, the fact that fire looks like a goofy bunch of thin 2d panels from above is...
Both are post-processing effects, per Valve, so we can't be sure that they are actually in with playable framerates. Both of those effects are known to be in Valve's version of Source now, but like the DOD trailers, not necessarily usable with playable framerates. So, as of now, the evidence...
it is in the HL universe. Given how menacing and evil the lady ultimately sounds, I'd have to guess that you are a combine test subject testing a new weapon that combine can use against the rebels. I wouldn't be surprised if there is an enemy that can use it in Ep3.
I don't think I'll be too tempted to buy until TF2 and Ep2 are really on the imminent horizon.
But what's the deal with motherboards, slot types, memory speeds, and so forth? Are there any major changes on the horizon that will make stuff obsolete in the way that AGP slots have become? What...
So I've been out of the gaming hardware purchasing scene for a while now. I won my governor's camapign in Virginia, and now I'm working on a project to send send money over mobile phones.
But... I've been distracted. I have lots of money now, and I want to get a new rig at some point, but...
Heh: you haven't figured out the real trick, and are trying to do it the hard way. :) Remeber that you can shoot portals through other portals: to climb the ledges, you need not climb in real space...
I really hope the gameplay is kicked up a few more complex notches. The look is great, but after all this, it better not be just a port in terms of gameplay style.
I like it. VERY incredibles. I bet it will look pretty darn sweet in action. I just hope the lighting model is such that these models won't stick out like a sore thumb, particularly the sniper.
Remember Old Man Murray? They would have approved: something that uses color, uses high concept...
