ok, but combine that with just as high poly vehicles, characters and the physics calculations in MP and youve got yourself one hell of a storm brewing :p
if i remember correctly, theyre around 5k, but even so, theyre still AI controlled in single-player. i think 4-5k would do just nicely for a MP mod. high poly CS models are about 2.5-3k. then again, you do have more detailed scenery to render as well. i duno, we cant know until the game is released.
i am very impressed waedoe, nice job. theres still some things that need work, like the hands and the arms generally. try rotating, twisting and make the verts more eratic on his shirt sleeves. it can look quite messy in normal renders, because skins tend to cover that up i also think it would...
it hasnt been duped. its just people come on asking the same question over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. it gets kinda tiring as you can tell.
no offence, but it sounds very limited. i like the idea of having one designated sniper on a team, where the rest are like his bodyguards. however, i think this would play better as one of other play modes in a game.
...kind of the way CS did it.
theres a few places that stand out to me, where you could lose a few polies. for example, on the fore-grip, you could use a bump/normal map to do those grooves, saving a lot of polies, not only on the half cylinders, but connecting it to the outer shape.
next is the stock...oh dear god. how...
first real try. this is my mini, which i tried to put in BF1942 in place of the willy...:dozey: hehe, twas fun, but never got finished.
...i might try again with BFV actually, would be nostalgic, funny and would probably take 1/5 of the time
looking good man, looking good.
the fornt is the best part for me, i like the way the cylinders come out of the end. the skin looks a bit 'wishy-washy' atm, but im sure thatll be solved :)
wazzpants has the idea, but the hands need real work. fingers are almost completely round, but yours are more like claws. your problem is probably that your hand is just too thick. it seems like a lot of polys for what it is, but the practice is good.
aslong as you use the right lighting and set it up alright, then the normal renderer can look very good.
PS. use catmull-rom as the AA type, gives a much better finish.
no, if i do one, ill do it as a written one, with pictures and lots of explanation. im not too keen on videos, because theyre harder to follow and take ages to download.
