i just bought a new video card today and amped up hl2 to maximum settings. unfortunatly my monitor can not handle the settings and now i can not get to the settings screen on the game. can someone please tell me how to delete the graphics settings of the game so they reset to default.

Past 3 weeks - all I've done was WoW. HL2 was best single player experience for me ever - while WoW was best Multiplayer.

So I was in Ravenholme and I was at the part where it is a large open street space and you have to get up on the roofs. There is a switch which sets this platform moving so you can make a jump from one roof to another. Well the thing is, I never saw that switch - so how did I ever pass that...

I tried Dling HL2 3 times now from steam and all 3 times it stopped on me. Is there a place where you can DL HL2 from besides steam and then authorize it? Or did I just waste 50 bucks on a game I cannot play?

I did pause and resume 3-4 times and I did restart steam completely now. Now it is stuck "Unlocking" at 40 % for 20 minutes. This makes no sense considering I was not even done DLing the game. Is there a place where I can download steam from and authorize it? This is getting insane.

What should I do? Get HL2 from someone else?

I want to buy HL2 over steam and authorize on friend's comp while I wait for new video card that I am getting this holiday season. After I get the new card am I able to authorize HL2 on my own computer and be able to play?

I must say that Doom 3 is the scariest game since Half Life 1 for me. It is excellently made, the lighting is amazing. The fact that ID has a deep storyline is a HUGE plus. If Doom 3 was basically brainless quake I would not play it. But I Love reading people's emails and voice comms to learn...
