    Truth and Reconciliation

If in the end, this turns out that Vivendi intentionally delayed the game to get a bigger "weekend gross", I'm going to feel quite ill. It is 'understandable' in that Vivendi is attempting to sell their gaming division right now....but it isn't understandable to gamers.

    Truth and Reconciliation

One aspect to 'minority' that we make up, is the influence we have over classmates, friends, co-workers when it comes to new games. For each individual who is a hardcore (or even only slightly so) fan, that is another person who is talking about the latest gameplay movies, screenshots, and...

I guess as the old story goes "You were talking to the wrong guy, kid."

Kudos to Valve for the delay......the game will only be better.

It may be better...but at what cost? Valve had its opportunity a month ago to set the record straight.

    Truth and Reconciliation

I don't want this thread to be another 'disappointed that the game is delay' or 'Valve sucks', etc. The purpose of this thread is to make a statement on the current status of Valve's public relations, and how a nearly flawless grassroots campaign could result in a public backslash. We need the...

Showstopper bug? Poor marketing? Gabe overly optimistic?

Reason #1 why Sims 2 won't fly: Because the reason they play the Sims now is the same reason everyone still plays Counter-Strike....cause it runs on any machine built in the last three years.

Showstopper bug? Poor marketing? Gabe overly optimistic?

I just can't figure it. Still no website, no official public announcements...the 'confirmed not delayed' the 'confirmed delayed'. I feel so used =/

    Halflife 2 AGP x8 question

"9500 has 8 pipes" Bzzzzzzzzzzt! Not entirely correct. The 9500 Non-Pro with 256mbit pipeline that can be soft-modded to a 9700 np are quite rare these days.

Steam to being sending 'the game' to hard drives a week before it ships

Quantum encryptions is great....shame it limited at 60bits per second... But in truth, they don't need that much encryption, they just send the files to your computer like it was rar files....the last part they send "unlocks" it.

Do you believe these forums will improve after HL2 is released?

I would have to agree with the idea that things will get worse before they get better. Sort of like a bell curve, and we are just about to reach the top.

Do you believe these forums will improve after HL2 is released?

For the most part, I believe many of the posts here are quite inflamatory at the moment as the hype and anticipation are reaching peak levels, and that after HL2 is released, when the facts are right there in front of us, the benchmarks, the screenshots, the gameplay movies, there won't be so...

Even if HL2 was delayed...it will be released.

Ha! You're right, that is a pretty crazy title. I should have said "Even if HL2 was delayed....it will be released on 9-30.

How would Valve have handled the whole "Nvidia DX9 Issues" if Nvidia had won the bid?

Well thanks for clearing that up, I could have sworn I read about ATI and Nvidia before the Inquirer publicity.
