If you think the source code theft was even 5% of the motivation for the delay your dead wrong. They had to rewrite some simple online coding things that don't even deal with the single player game, thats it. Gabe has even blatantly stated in some interviews that it wasn't the cause for the...
Ah give em a break, he was just giving us what we wanted, halflife 2 on September 30th. Or a close approximation of a small portion of an old build of halflife 2. Whatever.
Yeah the AI is certainly present in this video, I'm glad they got that squared away! The fights with the strider are pretty awesome, like how it throws the car, that was quite cool.
I liked how the combine snuck into the country house attic, that was quite awesome.
I like all of the shine on the floor textures, its well implemented. You can't really tell if the graphics are amazing or bad though, because the shaky cam vid is so terrible...unless there's a better one out already. I really like the voice acting.
CS looked kind of shite.
No it wouldn't, there would be about 64 real players and then the rest would be bots....teh teams would always be split evenly by bots and they would change their AI levels slighty higher if the teams ever became lop sided from disconnection.
There wouldn't be any visible player names, so the...
Wait a minute! I just made that up to confuse all of you!
But if my dark-ages mod ever comes out, be ready for awesomness...\\
Seriosuly though, I only made that shit up to prove this point, no one knows anything. Just wait.
"Hl2's multiplayer will feature hundreds of bots and players intermingled and fighting side by side, creating an atmosphere of both the chaos and strategizing of war."
Woah, now I'm excited!
Gamespot also said there will be a true wind waker sequel.
No offense to this new more realistic version, but it doesn't really look that great compared to upcoming games like Resident evil 4. I'm more excited for wind waker 2 than for this one.
I think WW2 comes out this Christmas and...
It better play like Half-Life or else whats the point of a sequel. Since the time of its release, no shooter has beaten half-life (including the critically lauded Metroid Prime).
One thing this game is going to have that HL1 really didn't is a story. The first half-life's story was basic...
Its First Person, you could be switching characters constantly. Gabe could just be a supernatural consciousness hopping from one brain to the next whenever 'he' needs to go somewhere far away or leave behind a wasted body. Gabe could be a renegade ideal seeded into someone's mind rather than a...
If you display widescreen on a regular monitor would it conform to the monitor and fit inside of it entirely, or would it just display full screen but chop of the sides (making it look wierd)?
Hl1 was pretty damn long. And Gabe said it was longer, so I'll be happy.
Plus didn't Gabe say that while the game would be entirely on earth, pieces of Xen would be on it? So the gameplay will probably vary. But I don't see a massive MGS twist.
