It might just be me, but I had a distinct feeling of deja vu with that interview.
It was almost as if I'd read it (or atleast parts of it) before. I remember certain parts of it clearly (including Lombardi's loose language and slightly unprofessional cursing).
Could just be me, but I could...
nice assortment of links...
I thought about posting on the hardware forum, but figured more people would see it in general.
BTW I've got a 9800pro already so I'm not in the market for a card, just thought some people here would be interested.
Just saw this on Tom's Hardware. It might be old news, but I haven't seen anything on these cards before.

Check it out.
I think it'll still be alittle while before the forums return to usual, but I think it shouldn't be too long.
After Valve's next BIG statement about the new release date and effects of the theft, things should be back to normal.
Gordon IS wearing the helmet in HL1. If he wasn't we couldn't see the heads up display (ie health, ammo, etc) and hear the suit's voice.
I think in pictures and stuff they leave the helmet off so you can see Gordon's face.
If he wasn't you'd die right away when falling into radioactive...
100% true. A frag gernade isn't designed to produce a huge explosion. The explosion merely projects shrapnel at high velocities in all directions.
A HE (high explosive) gernade or sachel carge (large brick of c4) rely on having the explosion's shockwave and concussion for kiling power.
We've run outta topics, run outta facts

I'd really hate if Gabe waits till December 20th, and then 'officially' announces a delay till 'Easter 2004' (aka April 2004).
I can't believe the melodrama and media circus this game has turned into. I mean I've anticipated games before, but never has anything gone is wierd before.
It's...
All in all I don't think it's that big of set back from a coding prespective. They just need to mildly change key parts of the code. If the Steam and mp algorithms haven't been comprimised then it isn't that bad at all.
The stuff that has leaked won't be used in any commerical software...
Nice... Well it's good to hear that this didn't hurt Valve THAT much. They're back to work on HL2 (yay!) and seem to have the hacker ordeal almost behind them.
Tweaking the stolen code to make it useless shouldn't be that hard. I could be wrong about this, but couldn't they just change the...
Why is Pepsi the 'choice of the new generation' then?
Sorry but Coca Cola came out first, and had cocaine in it too. I think Dr. Pepper is pretty old though (was originally conceived as a health supplement.)
Back on topic:
Yeah this really sucks for Valve. They stand to make a lot of...
I've got a couple friends with hot, hot gfs who are ok with 'watching him play'. I mean for hours on end. They actually enjoy watching them play games.
Meanwhile my girl gets bored and complains that I ignore her. Lol.
Well that made me feel alot better about Valve, and Gabe for that matter. He finally showed some empathy towards fans and the whole delay fiasco.
It was nice to hear that indeed they are still playtesting (along with localization and hardware tweeking I'm sure) and the game is indeed almost...
