The box ain't down, they just shut of the httpd. Do a nmap on steampowered.com and you'll see. The box is there, it's just not letting anything in :-) And oh, does anyone know if it's possible to just update the existing steam-client?

I read at the Steam page that in the new version of Steam you didn't have to be online to play lan. I can't remember the URL for it, but I'll try to dig it up when I get home from school.

They're prolly making something new and that will use a bunch of features in their engine, and they don't wanna leak it 'cos they want ppl to go like "Wow dude.." or something like that.... Get it? They want the players to be curious..

I acctually email Gabe about this (like a month ago) and he said it will be released world-wide at 30th, the same time as the Steam release

I thought they were gonna use something similair to that pixel thingie, but with polygons, so the polygons of the model is the place where it can be hit.. I'm not sure of this thought, but it would be nice.

yeah they're releasing a free lightweight XSI with HL2 that got the tools to export models to HL2 and that stuff..

some mods will prolly have the ability to pick stuff up from the ground and throw at your enemies.. would be pretty cool
