Despite that, you guys are all cool people. I look forward to applying to be hosted. I would much rather be hosted on this incomplete website then on PHL's. What's the EST/progress on the CMS?
He probably just means its good.
I'd hate to re-ask my question, but it seems to have been ignored... this looks like a great place to get hosted, because I despise the ad-infested crap that is PHL...but I've already done a good bit of programming for the site in php/mysql. So, do these...
Okay, Valve just released a patch today, and it seems like their authentication servers are doing much better, and their content servers are no longer overloaded. The patch seems like it fixed the children error, some other asserts, AKA the majority of the crashes on most user's systems. Steam...
Actually, this thread is intended for people to post non-content server-related bugs in steam, so that they are all collected in a central place, so valve can be aware of them. Of course, Valve is already aware of most of these issues, but still. It is also for people posting their pet peeves...
Rofl, hi Dunsel. Sorry to make you the subject of a bug, but your name looked best with the funny-lookin thing in it :P
Make sure you kill any stray hl.exe processes you have running.
This is normal. It pulls it up from the cache automatically, you have HL installed.
Back on topic, thank you guys for including my question! Gabe didn't exactly answer with what I wanted him to answer with, but he did provide some valuable information. Thanks guys, thanks Gabe!
Remember the problem where games you could play with friends would mirror image? Well it appears to be getting worse!
:/
Remember guys, stay on topic, post here non-bandwidth related issues you've had with steam, and screenshots of bugs!
Please xtasy, remain calm. This poor child is trying to do something right. You blew up in his face.
Sharp, the issue about having to be online to play LAN/SP is only temporary. It will be removed in the future. It will not be a permanent issue. You petition is therefore, sorry to say...
Thanks guys. There's three images up there, but I'm only going to include the third, as the first two are simply a result of the content servers being down, which are not bugs/crashes in themselves. Actually, on second thought, I'll include that first one as well, just because the error message...
I'm starting this thread inspired by the Microsoft Crash Gallery.
I want to make a note as to why I'm starting the thread. I'm not bashing Steam, it's an excellent concept, but with less then desireble implementation. I hope to bring attention to its defects, so that they mey be fixed in the...
I would be posting this in the Steam forums, except that when I registered they never sent me a confirmation email, and thus they aren't letting me post. [email protected] hasn't gotten back to me, and I'm not suprised.
During the Steam installation process, the part where it transfers...
I was interested in learning how the 9700 performs against the 9600 and 9800, and why the 9700 is seemingly ignored by Valve, who seem to favor the 9600. Then, I noticed that ATI has released Linux drivers for most of their 9x00 models, including the 9600 and 9800, so now I couldn't care less...
