before you can have a game thats totally destructable (ie you can do anything) we have to have AI such that it will adapt to your moves, basically playing different everytime, to the extent that there isn't even an official story, it just works that way....

you can take any name and twist it to mean something. Lambda could be like a lambda-expression in LISP, which allows you to have dynamic functions...maybe you (ie Gordon) are a lambda-person, you can adapt to solve anything!!!

the flicker you get from too low frame rates is different than seeing low framerate animations. if you're displaying 60 fps you won't see jerkiness.
consider movies, which have something like 26 fps but are shown with the slides doubled to 52 fps, looks fine.
