I think you just get the collector's box. There are descriptions of each package on the main news page of HL2.net. I saw no mention of getting actual, physical discs of the game's CDs.
Same. But now because of the ridiculously-impatient individual that I am I'm somewhat considering buying a Steam package. Just to be able to play the second the retail release day hits 12:01 makes me all giddy. But having the discs is a big plus for me as well. Why oh why must you torture me so...
You start having dreams about trying to get a burned copy from a friend, because all the stores are currently sold out of it and you obviously must play the game asap. Anyone else been having HL2 dreams like this lately? My mind has become so enamoured with all things HL2 that its practically...
Good luck finding that critic :)
Actually I think that some of the game critics today are pretty good. They really do go in-depth well. But it seems that finding unbiased reviews with big titles (D3) with scores that match the text is hard to come by. Hopefully PC Gamer's review of Half-Life...
I don't think most people on here care about the media. It's the score most are interested in, plus info concerning multiplayer. Most likely we won't have the game on our PCs by the time this magazine reaches us. A good way to tide us over and help keep the faith.
If for some odd reason Vivendi wins the rights to the Half-Life franchise, I think they should re-build Half-Life 2 and change all the enemies to chain smoking hamsters. That way, you know, things would be safe for them financially and stuff.
I believe all their content was completed by that time (Sep 30 last year) but playtesting was underway. I know a year sounds like a long time for just bug squashing, but you never know. Some have argued that a large portion of the game was not completed, based on the fact that the leaked version...
I don't want any information. I just want them to shut the hell up until the game has gone gold and they have a confirmed street date for release from the publisher.
EDIT: Maybe they're starting to adopt this policy to some degree seeing as how they didn't announce when the second pre-load...
Yeah I really am happy about that. To have that and then have the game pushed back to November is no biggy for me honestly. Just to see they're making progress on the distribution front is enough to keep me satisfied release-wise. I wonder how much Vivendi would sue Valve for if they decided to...
Well that's the whole point. We wouldn't be whining about it if they just shut up about the dates. Then the delays wouldn't be so annoying. And who said saying things to the community was a good thing in this situation? If they actually followed up on what they projected, at least, like, 50% of...
Exactly. Didn't id do this with Doom 3? And then when it went gold everyone was assumably in a much more rejoiced and surprised mood about it? No buildup and what not. When HL2 goes gold we're gonna get several dozen threads on here with titles along the lines of 'Bout time they got their asses...
Well their communication in general needs an overhaul (don't say squat in the first place about projected dates is what I'd recommend, ol' George from 3D Realms knows that by now :)). But tbh I'm just glad that we've been witnessing some progress at all what with the pre-loads. Yes, it's not a...
