The flying debris thing would be so damn cool. imagine firing a rocket at a wall and the explosion lets large chunks of metal and wood go flying through the air.
IMO if your going to do a game on a war -any war - do it right. By that I mean a fairly realistic environment. Sure it would be frustrating if it were 100% realistc but some things need to be sacrificed for gameplay. However, DoD ATM has too much gameplay and not enough realism. The M1 Garand is...
Definately zombies. They way they smashed through doors to get at you was very. I love climbing the elevator ladder at the start and seeing Barney pumping them full of lead.
One of the coolest moments I remember was when you come up some stairs and see a zombie on a catwalk with a glass...
I'm looking forward to CoD singleplayer. So far they have not released any info on multiplayer which is a bummer.
In comparison to DoD 2, unless CoD can deliever exciting MP it has a limited life on anyone's hard drive. DoD 2 will just be so much fun on the Source engine.
I know I shouldn't draw from this but what the hell. At the end of the preview doesn't the G-Man say "Isn't this just like...old times?"
Ah, too confusing to make any assumptions now.
I never used trip mines. Damn soldiers were sometimes too smart to run into em. I was never good at setting traps.
I prefer to use satchel charges, as I can detonate them at my own discretion.
I don't get Aphex Twin. Some of his songs start off with a real cool electronic beat to it, then it just gets real weird.
First time I saw the film clip for Come to Daddy it was 3:00AM and totally dark. Freaked me out pretty bad. Has to be on my list of "Weirdest Film Clips Made". I think it...
I thought it was cool how in Vietcong, during certain parts of the game ie sitting in a chopper you could look down and see your body, as if you were actually looking through a guys eyes.
I think it would be cool to have this, as every time I look down in HL I wish I saw legs.
I agree with you Lyrids. Half-life is used to determine the amount of time it takes a substance (normally a radioactive substance I believe) to decay.
I don't think the literal definition of half life has any DIRECT link to the game. On a metaphorical level it works though.
Yeah I like the originality, but still confusing. After searching for a couple of popular reading of Mulholland Drive on the net I think I can now understand it a bit more.
On topic:
I never liked using snarks in HL. Most of the time they would backfire and attack you.
How do I get that map to work????
Sorry for the n00b question but I have actually never modified the original HL. I just d/l mods like DoD, CS, TFC etc etc.
Damn, cos I want to make a Combine soldier kebab with a Strider. DAMN that would be fun. Would remind me a lot of Star Wars, the walking around shooting stuff bit, not the kebab bit. Chicken walker and that blaster it has reminds me of the Strider.
