Since when does Valve have an obligation to release the game before Christmas or give you a solid release date? You guys think you could do a better job developing it?
I think a serb/muslim/croatia conflict mod would be interesting, as its one of the less known but most important conflicts of the 20th Century.
Same goes for WW1.
You have to love how people throw out random flames and never justify any of it.
I'd like to see a GTA-style dynamic environment. I mean random weather, and the time constantly shifts from day to night, night to day. Maybe Combine soldiers are out in force in the day, while there are more...
Half-Life of the Black Mesa incident....how many years have passed between HL and HL2? Maybe they mention how many people are still alive. Living people = radioactivity in the metaphor.
And please, take the time to read my previous post, quoted from Mooreburg. It explains everything a lot...
I took this from city-17.net, kudos to mooreburg for finding it all out:
Using the Merriam Webster online dictionary gives some definations other than what is immediately associated with a word.
The noun form of "combine" for instance:

Main Entry: 2com·bine

Rofl, didn't remember the alien name. I can honestly only remember the headcrabs and zombies, the others I just describe with adjectives.
Those many-eyed dogs that squeal really high-pitched. Those kangaroos with squids for faces that spit bile at you. Etc.
Hmm...maybe you should pay more attention. Gabe has already said that giving an object a texture in the map editor give the object that texture's associated properties. Damage/break points are irrelevant; most objects can be destroyed. Watch traptown, and the Combine with the MP-7 shreds a piece...
I have to agree with the liquid physics. Imagine playing MP, about to enter a door. You hear three shotgun blasts, and blood oozes under the door in a thin crimson stream. It would multiply the fear by 3, and add great cinematic effects.
The Doom3 engine? You have to be kidding me! Its just...
I'm guessing that we'll see a fourth stage. Maybe the guys with the shiny green 'jewelry' that shot lightning are another stage?
I could see the fourth stage being sort of like the pinky demons in Doom...
Actually, check out the 'my shoulder' thread. The concept art is what I envision as...
You assign the wood texture to an object, it has properties of wood. It can be smashed, blown apart, etc. Properties of objects are dependent on textures.
I'm guessing that there is smashable wood for objects and impenetrable wood for walls, etc. But it would be cool to blow the side of a...
Halo on the 30, Max Payne 2 on Oct. 15 (which uses the same physics engine as HL-2, w00t!), Call of Duty, Deus Ex: Invisible War, Doom 3, etc. Of course I should hope HL-2 is out between CoD and MP2.
I think everyone is looking forward to the graphics. The physics engine is what I find most exciting, as well as the modding possibilites of the Source engine. I've had some mediocre ideas, but nothing worth making into a full mod yet. I'm sure once I see the engine in action and see its...
I did see some Dresden pics of wires hanging over the streets, for the Strassenbahnen.
It's pretty much a dead point anyway, some of the pictures just struck me as looking like Dresden. It's a generic eastern european city. Although since German was working in Austria, maybe this is the city...
I saw some pictures around WW2, and it looks even more similar. There's even a horse statue in front of the opera house, but I can't remember the name or if there's a man on the horse.
I really hope they take that out of the game, it completely removes any of the question as to whether you killed someone. Tossing a grenade around a corner and cautiously inching up to see if they died, peeking around the corner and behind you every two seconds like a paranoid schizophrenic...
