Paul Steed's book is one of the best out there (I don't have it, many others have recommended it). The version number of the program does not matter very much when it comes down to modelling; you just might find some more goodies or less bugs with 3dsmax6 than 5 or 4.
Haha, I meant hack as in transfer his skin over to your model. I was not implying that you were stealing. I am just saying that with the transferred skin it looks kind of weird. The model looks really good, but there are some inaccuracies. The most prominent one is on the slide where it...
I use Opera. Tabbed browsing, integrated mail client, pop-up blocking, fast, mouse gestures, fast, almost fully customizable user interface, fast, multiple search engine quick searches built into toolbar if you want...did I mention fast?
I use mouse gestures almost religiously, I have...
I usually find the 800x600 is small enough not to stretch anything but a good size to show off a model. I won't argue about the boxiness anymore because it will just go on and on.
Looking at your modelling, it looks very good. I am not a Corvette expert, but this is definitely well modelled. As for the renders, the gloss and reflection does not look very realistic. Cars reflect much less than that in real life, even when brand new and turtle waxed for 5 hours. Also...
The Sig looks pretty good other than the magazine; that needs to be smoother. They all look really boxy, almost as if they were made for a 5 year old engine. The renders are not big enough and the scenes are not well lit enough to give crits.
Can you tell us the polycounts? They all look...
I agree with most of the previous people, booleans can make things a bit messy. It is a lot cleaner to just make the holes or whatever you need manually. Even though this may take maybe 5 minutes extra, it would take that same 5 minutes just to clean the mesh after making a boolean. If you...
Pendragon, it's the Techsmith codec, not "EnSharpen" or whatever you're talking about :p Search for TSCC on the site.
I'll make a tutorial, but I still don't know what to model in it.
Did you download the codec? (it's in the readme :))
I don't like making real big tutorials because it makes me seem like I think I'm better than everybody else ;(
But if you insist, what should I model in this tutorial?
