$160? http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=58
Unless you're not in America? You must be thinking of the overpriced Filcos (all Filcos coming into the US must go through the UK first, hence their magical $20 increase compared to other brands).
That's probably because they were bottoming out. If the Browns tested louder, it's because the keys were slamming into the back of the switch. MX Blacks and Reds technically make no noise, but because they have no feedback, the only way the user knows the key is depressed is when it hits rock...
For those who are out of the loop, Apple has been hard on Samsung's ass (in a long series of hard-on-assedness toward basically every hardware company under the sun) about the Galaxy Tab supposedly being a patent infringement on the iPad. Their claim, among other things, was that the following...
UPDATE! I.E. VIPER IS AN IDIOT
So it turns out that I'm a moron, as well as the sales guy I was talking to. I actually bought the Das with the Blue switches. I'm going to blame this on their packaging ("Das Professional Model S" with a giant S looking like it's the "Silent" (Brown) model)...
Do you mean for testing switches? Otherwise, these are totes available online, especially the best ones: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/
You just need enough bones.

I distinctly remember your asking which switch I was planning on getting. It sounded like you were implying you'd go with whatever I was recommending. Why so reverse? In that case:
DEFINITELY KEEP THE REDS
Went to the local computer retailer this morning, tried out a bunch of different keyboards.
-Razor Blackwidow w/ MX Blue: action feels good enough, although plastic is cheap and wobbles too much for my liking.
-Corsair K60/K90 w/ MX Red: No, no, no. I can see the appeal of MX Reds: they are...
Membrane keys will wear. My own completely unsupported hypothesis is that since membranes/rubber wear out slowly, it's gradual enough that people don't notice it, but get habituated to their crappiness. Then they buy a new membrane keyboard for whatever reason and it feels...
Rosewill's out. Bad PCB and cable design.
Now it's between Das and Filco. Gonna wait a week or two to see if my local store has a sale on the Filcos. If not, I'll settle for the Das.
Will keep you guys updated if anything changes in the race.
In my brain I was just thinking about the eucharist when I posted that. You're of course correct. Too much protestantism/alcoholism in Western Canada.
Because that's the same attitude I see people in academia and pretty much everywhere use as a defence of ignorance about history and culture...
Scratch what I said about the Corsair. Apparently their line is plagued with firmware and software issues.
Now I'm deciding between a Das, a Filco, and the Rosewill.
I find it a little funny that despite everyone's vehement anti-religion (specifically Christianity) they still don't know its most basic ceremonies.
Everyone is supposed to get wine/bread. Body and blood of Christ. If they don't, your church is cheap. Depending on your flavour of...
Cherry MX Blacks are the stiffest you can get (apparently)... supposedly Browns/Blues/Reds are better.
I've actually spent most of my day researching mechanical keyboards. I'm currently planning on buying one of these...
Pretty light on themes and ideas (or at the least, he sticks to a couple and doesn't waver). Pretty much pulp character novels. Events/shocker moments can get pretty cliche. The series is getting more and more dialogue heavy, almost like a play. It's almost the opposite of Tolkien in that he's...
