Austria is not east european (more central european) and Gordon is no german name. City17 is in fact a fictive east-european city (Valve confirmend that). Gordon is an old english name and means "fruitful land". Just to clear that up.
So he could easily be an englishman, maybe with eastern...
Gordon Freeman is not a very european name. So even if he looks a bit east-european, it's more realistic to think he is from America. Maybe his parents were european immigrants and changed their names.
Or he his home is a hdd at Valve and he has no background and his name ist just because the...
If I have to choose between:
Wait 90 days with NOTHING to chew on
or
Wait 97 days with a nice playable Techdemo in the meantime
I take the 97 days option
Gabe said, the laws of physics are basically simulated. Gordon Freeman has a weight and a mass (if he steps on thin glass, it will break and so on). I think the maximum you will be able to lift with the gun is the maximum a strong human can lift in the air in this position. So not much more than...
added developement time? You mean to the 5 years they already used? :)
All those Quakes were delayed several years because they released a techdemo prior to release. I just forgot that.... maybe because it didn't happen...
in the e3 techdemo you could pick up dead bodys and throw them arround. The gravity gun gets upgraded during the game. So maybe you will be able to lift such heavy objects later in the game and not at once.
CVG messed them up. First, the converted it to DivX with way too low bitrate and second they shortened the videos very much. So NO, the 1024 res Bink versions of the buggy and the Strider video are still missing.
And to the other point: Did the Q3Test spoil Q3A for you? Or the other id...
There is nothing at the Tokyo show. It's an 1:1 copy of the E3 show.
But there are 2 E3 Videos missing - the buggy and the strider video. Only available in shaky-cam format. They should release them in direct-feed Bink format now.
TGS: HALF-LIFE 2: The game of show? The average showgoer was locked off from it. ATI imported a very small theatre capable of seating 30 people at a time. They also had hourly shows. Unless you waited for an hour you could not get in. So with only 5 shows, only 150 showgoers out of +10,000 got...
or they will write a "we are sorry, but the review copy didn't make it in time, hl2 was delayed". PC mags have deadlines and when you read it, the informations in the mag are 2 weeks old. So you won't see a review OR the PC mag got an exclusive final-beta-Review Version prior to the release-master.
