There was a thread right after HL2 came out where you could play HL2 with other people cooperatively by connecting to their server or something. Can anyone help me out?

No, I was simply responding to all the giddy people thinking maybe it will go gold today. It doesn't mean you're gonna get to play it very soon. Gold doesn't mean you get to play your locked copy. It just means the final version is ready. Oh and on top of that, doesn it usually take a week...

Gold is great, but if we still gotta wait till December, that's pretty crappy. The game is done, now it's just politics. Valve really ****ed up with their cocky "The game will be released Sept. 30th, 2003". Should have kept their mouths shut.

Original HL got a 97% from PCGamer, I'm guessing 95-98%. It isn't as revolutionary as HL was, but it's still going to be THE game all over again.

With all these new games coming out, much of it will be personal preference. I feel that Doom 3, Far Cry, etc look like plastic. The engines are very capable, but it just isn't my style. I feel like I'm playing G.I. Joe. HL2 and STALKER on the other hand, have very realistic graphics...
