without a doubt 640x480 with no AA or anything. Everything set to lowest and ill see if i can pull 30fps.
EDIT: INteresting above. Hopefully that means VALVe Will try really hard to cater for people like me with older systems.
hey spit, would you be able to just take a photo of the building, or the lobby of the building or something. Or just try to go to level 2, if it doesnt work its no loss. Everything to gain nothing to lose!!:)
I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if they are going to do a slightly non controllable intro scene like hl1. Whatever it is im sure they put alllot of work into it, and it will be somehow similar to hl1s intro.:)
im going all giddy with excitement again.
So this isnt like a new steam release as such, its just more steam clients with more games in the cache. Thats kind of useless really, i just want the cached games, not the client.
Or is there a difference between client version?
Would a geforce 2 and and a duron 1000 be able to get my around 60-60fps at 640x480 with mostly lowest details? All i really need is FPS, i can live without the sexyiness i spose?
lol @ ^
I think gabe would much prefer to give a humour one line answer to all of the questions asked in this thread. Or maybe he'd just say "its a design decision not a technical lmitation" again:) i love that
yeah, thsoe bits would need to be. Maybe not the sound, never know what source is capable of:P Maybe just a slightly edited version of it which is a bit different could be done. Would be mad to see.:)
Well common, if bits are gonna be scripted then you could do it in hl1 engine if you like. I beleive a question like this was mentioned to gabe in a question about the physics engine, cant remember what he said.
I wanna see it done with 0 scripting:)
