What I really like about your first picture, is that if you look up in the sky, it looks like there is a metal ceiling way high up in the sky, which is a very Combine-ish thing to have in my opinion.
Of course he wears the helmet during the game. Where do you think the HUD comes from, his glasses?
Pictures of Gordon without the helm are just for promo artwork.
It's the OICW. It stands for Objective Individual Combat Weapon, and it's a real life United States experimental assault rifle.
Also, a round is a single shot. The word you guys are thinking of is a clip or a magazine.
They can probably crawl/climb across surfaces using the part of their body that they use to latch onto surfaces. I think that they can change their position when they need to, but we never see them do that, as they prefer to wait in one spot for their food, much in the same way an antlion behaves.
Re-read my post and you will see that I made sure to say at the end that my suggestion is in consideration that the Breen->Slug theory turns out to be true.
In the future, please try to carefully read the entire post before leaping to disagree with someone.
Here's a thought.....
What if the Combine are not born as slugs, but are rather some other creature, perhaps humanoid, that eventually has its mind transferred to an artificially bio-engineered slug body? The slug body was designed to enhance the mental abilities of the being inhabiting it...
Yeah, you need to park your airboat near the tunnel, and hop on top of it to get in. If your health is high, you can just sprint though the radioactive waste and you'll still have some life left when you get in his room.
I seriously think so. That was the first idea that popped in my head when I saw the Hunters in the Ep2 trailer, and it still makes a lot of sense to me.
I really don't believe that Hunters are just miniature Striders. Look at how they move around. Hunters are fast and agile, capable of making...
There are more similarities between Hunters and Houndeyes than there are between Hunters and Striders. I don't think the Hunters look anything like Striders, actually. Striders have stilt-like legs, and Hunters have meatier legs with thicker "biceps" like a primate. Even those spiky things on...
Well the thing you have to keep in mind about Hunters, is that they are a work in progress. According to the PC Gamer article, Valve still hasn't decided on a method of killing the creatures. We only have looks to go on right now.
Hunters run in a similar fashion to the Houndeyes. We know that...
Go into Garry's Mod and spawn a Vortigaunt and a Combine Elite w/ Pulse Rifle. Who always wins?
Vort Lightning > Pulse Rifle
The Combine made the right choice in deciding not to give the Vorts guns.
My thoughts are that the three kinds of headcrabs are different species belonging to the same family, just like how we have different kinds of frogs and millions of other creatures in real life. The headcrab takes host bodies as a food source, and uses it as a means of protecting itself. When...
The point is that with only 3 fingers, they look like they would be rather clumsy with a gun. They are better off with their natural lightning attack, and that is why they don't use pulse rifles.
Easy. The Xen Aliens have powerful natural ranged attacks. A special weapon had to be made for humans, because they can't shoot plasma out of their hands like the humanoid Xen aliens can. Look at their hands too. The poor Vort in Eli's lab is struggling "hunt and peck" style with his keyboard.
I wonder if the antlion AI checks to see if you have the pheropods to determine whether to be friendly/aggro, or if the Nova Prospekt levels use a different AI so that it won't make a difference whether or not you have them. Tell us when you find out, Cyan.
