A bit controversial but if I had a million i'd port HL2 over to a Dual 2Ghz G5 Apple, then we'd be talking performance. Unfortunately we'll have to make do with Windows. Never mind.
PC for Play/Mac for Work
Complete agreement, even though I hate everything about Microsoft, I have to admit that its the best mouse I've owned. Also I'm predomintely a Mac user and they have beautiful mice...and yes only one button!
fair enough, better to be sure. You do know that black as a colour soaks up and holds more heat than any other colour. Example, get in a dark interior car in hot weather......toasty! If I was to paint my case interior I'd do it white.
I'm not try to be picky, honest. I'm generally quite...
hang fire for a second. 269 dollars, is that US or CAN (maybe i'm being ignorant if they are the same). Let me see if I can find anywhere else. 269 CAN dollars translates to about £122. About the average price. That Tyan version is worth searching for. Its the same price as well. Its built for...

the cards are slightly out of date but you'll get the idea.
At toms hardware guide hidden away in the graphics card section he has multi-card reviews using higher and lower powered CPU's. This is to show the effects of bottle necking. Hang on I'll find the link for you. Just give me a couple of minutes.
Graphics wise at the res you want to play at the...
try looking at the paint tin, does it have an orange logo with flames on it? If it does, cross your figures and pray that nothing gets too hot or sparks. Why do you think that they only spray the outer side of the case and leave the inner bare!
your gonna need a 2ghz cpu really. The physics maybe scalable like in UT2003 though. You could stick a new card in but it would get strangled by your CPU, at least it would be pretty futureproof though. The best 9600 pro is this one...
take 3d Mark 2001, 3d Mark 2003 and the new Aquamark. Run all three at default settings. Add the three scores together and divide by three. Should give you a pretty accurate benchmark score:
My XP2600+ 512 2700 DDR 9800np scores as follows:
2001: 14500
2003: 5401
Aqua: 36452

that sounds lovely, if not a little sad. Good luck with that paint inside the case, sounds like a fire hazard to me (gloss paint very flammable).
KABOOM!!!
just checked, i can get one for £70. The user reviews said it can run at XP3000+ speeds with stock cooling. Thats amazing...very tempted even though I only bought the CPU three months ago. It the bios much different between the non and deluxe a7nx8 boards? I have the non
can i get mine running any quicker then? I built the PC but i'm not overly techy when it comes to CPU clocking. I just fiddled with the mobo bios settings.
I'm aware of the funny XP naming crap, It still seems a leap though. I'd like to see some other CPU/GFX scores then we can really compare. I'm not accusing you of anything I'm just curious.
that seems a bit high, is your cpu clocked higher than or running at 2.8. Thats twice my score, a 200mhz difference wouldn't yield that even if it is a different chip.
