The nforce3 mobo relies a lot more on CPU then the nforce4 version.
However, unless you've decided you want PCIe (and only real reason for that right now is SLI) then you probably don't really need to wait.

However, which program is "best" is largely subjective. Try the demos of several. Find the one that works best for your work style.

Instead of spending $51 for 2 drives, get a combo drive...
It'll run it at direct x 8.1 level unless you specifically force it to direct x 9. (However, that'd slow waaaay down.)
A 5600 will give you decent performance, but nothing to brag about by any means. You may be able to turn features to high by lowering resolution.
Not sure if it's a photoshop or not (could easily be, look at worth1000.com sometime) but the edge of the thumb appears to have some trace aliasing from a light background left.

You've got source code confused with "Source", the engine powering the game.
Source code is the generic term for the text that is compiled to make any program. It's contained in many different files which are a complete anethema to anyone who is not a programmer.
