still it looks like the combine soldier in the barricade vid shoots his flare from a gun that looks like a pistol.
he holds it like a pistol as well, with one hand.
it's really not as big as the weapon used in the tunnels vid. IMO.

the tunnels gun seems a lot more powerful... (and doesnt have a box around it ;) )

wonder if you could use multiple different grenades on the gun, like in Unreal2.
that was the only thing i actually liked about that game.
yeah a combination sounds good to me...
maybe a strider is a living thing, like an animal, and they just put chips in his brain to control it somehow or make it attack people.
and they put some laser cannon under his 'head' and erm well yeah...
i don't think they'll actually let you download the game to your harddisk when using steam...
maybe parts of it, but it probably won't be executable.

yeah in the (official?) hl2 trailer grenades are thrown at the strider. the explosions seem pretty heavy, still he doesn't react that much to the bombs... :D
that's true, but you don't know what they'd already done to the poor beast. i'm saying: maybe they just used the shotgun to finish it off.
i like the life draining part though. :D
from the gamespy e3 coverage, when talking about the strider scene:
"For his trouble, we hit the Strider a few times with our shotgun, and you could practically see the life drain out of the creature, as it collapsed to earth in a convincing manner."
