People have said this before, but Gordon not talking allows the player to actually BE the player, not just play the player. Don't know if that makes any sense.
This reminds me of a mod called counter-life, a cross between cs1.6 and hl1, where you go through half-life with the counterstrike weapons and the counterstrike damage system, in that if you get shot more than three times, you die. I remember having to spam grenades everywhere. Good times.
There's no arguing that the gman is a real thing. He saved Alyx in black Mesa, personally gave Eli the sample that caused the cascade, and talked to Adrian shepards' officers in person.
I'm willing to bet money that verifying the integrity of your game cache will solve this. Do this by going to the games properties, local files, and verify.
A cameo appearance or some mention of some guy named Shepard leading fighters against the combine in like c15 or something.
And yes, Alyx needs to go away.
Alright, first off, don't trust combine overwiki that much, they take a lot of leaps in logic.
So you're saying that the gman is playing both sides, trying to get the combine to invade earth. Why?
I don't like your idea that the gman is just a dude an alien that copied a humans body. If...
Well since this is just a save file problem not an actual game problem, I'd either just play through the game to the point where you stopped, or just load the level you stopped at with the console, which you can do by opening the console with the ~ key and typing map *map*, where *map* is the...
Sorry foe the late rsponse, but I remember having this same problem on my old computer. The problem for me was a crappy graphics card, because the problem went away right after I got a new graphics card. But the gpu that you have is more than good enough to run hl2.
So what could be a...
Heh I remember having that getting stuck in elevator problem at residue processing.
Anyway, I frankly would just either noclip through the thing blocking the rails and then nocliping through on a rail until you're out of the water, or you could just go into the console and type in the next map...
It takes a portion of damage for bigger attacks like grenades, but absorbs all the damage from bullets at 100. If its not at 100, then things like bullets take off both health and suit power.
I'm fairly sure that Gordon passed out at the end ep2 from the shock of Eli dying. This would allow a smooth transition from the hanger to let's say a infirmary room where a medic was making sure that Gordon is alright. This would save the player from having to watch alyx cry about her dad, and...
