Headcrab would be awesome. I wouldn't have though so, but you're right. Attatching to hosts and driving around their bodies would be awesome. Too bad you'd never get to use a weapon, though. :/ Oh well, bitch slapping Freeman with my zombie claws would be good enough! :cheese:
I thought it was just common sense that you wouldn't want the AI hiding or kicking your ass in a demo. We want to see the enemies, the weapons, and the surroudings.
I was going to complain about the cursor trail, because I really hate those things and think they are a halmark of amateur sites, but I was too busy making to do waves to the music! :dork: :cheese:
On topic: Based on the screenshots here, I don't think AA is on. It's simply darker lighting...
They aren't men. They are like flying buzz-saws. Kind of like big insects with saw blades. They tear through everything that can break, and when you hit them with the crowbar they careen off into stuff and make lots of sparks. They're pretty awesome! :eek:
Barney was no help? When I played hte game, my barney was kicking ass. I think it was a little buggy. He had crazy good aim. He was able to take out two or three grunts by himself with that pistol. I never bother with the scientists though, can't every really help them. :/ I just let them stay...
Things I noticed that I like:
I love the sound of bullets hitting tile in "bug bait."
The splash when the hydra slams the combine in the puddle.
The almost musical quality of the sound of manhacks hitting metal.
The bullet hole decals showing up on both sides of the surface in bug bait...
In the valve info thread, someone asked gabe about barrels, and if they would bench and crush when being subjeted to a lot of force (i.e. falling from somewhere high). Gabe said no; that the engine using rigid-body physics. He said all you could to would be to swap out the model for a crushed one.
I'm not familiar with the technology, but I have questions. :/
I assume that a lightmap is similar to placing a texture, no? If so, why can't it simply be a higher resolution? Why would that cause more fps strain than high-res textures? Shouldn't HL2 be able to do all dynamic lighting anyway?
But wouldn't it be cool to have him desparately, perhaps accidentally, empty the magazine while he flailed through the air? I think that would be awesome.

Yes, they will. They will also be sold over steam. Mod makers will have intelluctual property rights to the mods they put on steam. It's all been covered in the "valve info only" thread I believe. Which, by the way, could use a cleaning.
