4 hours is pretty damn short even for episodic gaming unfortunately. Especially after over a year of development....Anyway when everything is done we should have like a 40 hour game so that is sweet. But yeah this may not be the most enjoyable experience playing for 4 hours then waiting for...
The videos seemed to spoil a few things, so i just minimized my video player and listened to the interview. Game is looking great though, better than i expected after some less than steller previews.
I liked the ash falling in the city though.
Supposedly its only 14 maps long, so this cant be the only update. There has to be more. 14 maps is retarded. Makes me wonder what the heck valve was doing for over a year.

Could be sweet, especially if they release a unique multiplayer component and upgrade to hdr and new shaders like the lost coast.
People are saying it might be delayed cause the second preload hasnt happened yet and it will be big. If the 2nd preload hasnt happened then the game isnt gold and the retail version wont ship on time. They probably wont release the steam one before retail.
Certainly will be interesting to see how this pans out. Half life 2 is one of the greatest games ever. This first release for episodic content is huge for valve. I am interested to see what has been the result of the long development time. Is it merely an extension of the game with similar...
Always wondered what could they do anyway. I mean they are using Valve's engine, Valves license on Half Life, and i highly doubt they have bothered to file copyright with any of the model work they have done. Plus there is no loss of funds here. They cant do anything beside maybe some intrusion...
The ideal kick ass valve move would be to release an updated HDR enabled Half Life 2 a few days before aftermath comes out. But that would make too much sense and probably wont happen.
Dont dismiss Epic's talent though. Clearly with the new e3 showing of gears of war, it is clear they are not only amazing at creating visuals but seem to have made some great gameplay. Of course, i doubt it will be better than half life 2, but doesnt mean ms is stupid for this.
And this is why there is that handy backup feature in steam. For those with dvd burners like myself, steam becomes the only way to go. Same as a box disc, get to play it early, get some money off. Win!
