As far as I know steam will continue to be free.
I also remember reading at the steam forums that the videos will be buggy, strider, and the tech demo. I'm not sure if it was confirmed or just speculation.
I agree with Bass. I could really care less about the movies at this...
Okay everyone! Make way for the noob!
Allright. Will someone explain to me what all this means. Tell it to me like I'm a three fingered retard so I understand, because I am completely confused. What on earth is a SKU? If I spend fifty bones at wal-mart (I'm from a small town) will I...
I hope HL2 isn't just released on steam on the 30th, then in boxed form later on.
If that's what valve is doing it would explain why Valve says it'll be released on the 30th and Vivindi says Holiday 2003.
Bring on the "stfu noob!!!!11!'s"
I know this sounds crazy, but I kind of like the anticipation of waiting for it. Don't get me wrong, as soon as it's released I'll be knocking over senior citizens to buy it, but I like the mentality everyone has when they haven't played it.
After I play the game and see what's going on with...

Right now, some company is making a game we don't know...
I think it's kind of funny really. If you were on a dock in real life beating up a real life zombie that fell in the water, would you really think to yourself "man, that splash could have looked a little cooler."? My point is: the game is obviously all about gameplay (as it should be), and I...
Valve will be selling HL2 off of Steam. Maybe it was kind of a secret security test to see how long it would take before someone hacked it. They could lose a lot of money if people just hacked steam and got HL2 for free, so maybe they kind of tested the security with the video files.
Maybe I...
Same here. Untill now I haven't had the need to buy a DVD player for my computer when I have a DVD player and a 32" Sony Wega TV about 10 feet from my computer. I would run out and buy one for this game, but my girlfriend and I don't have a lot of loot (probably because we buy stuff like 32" TVs).
