Well to me, the game looked just fine from the videos. I see no need for you guys to give this game an incredible hype that not even Jesus could live up to. Try to focus on what you are getting, not what you aren't.
I doubt you will be able to kill the 'main' characters this time around. Seeing as Gabe said in a response that if you shoot at Alyx she would get mad and shoot you back.
The only bottleneck on your system is your CPU, I would look into upgrading that. The rest of your system is fine. You should be able to run on best settings.
Well if you watch the e3 vid during the Dune-buggy part, when he drives past the rocks, you can see them sort of shift. It's not that big of a deal in my opinion.
Has Valve said anything as to why they went to static LOD instead of MRM? I wonder if a MOD could use MRM instead of static LOD. Would it be possible or would you have to license the engine to change something like that?
Well now that I think of it, wait to buy a new video card until hl2 is about to be released. Seeing as how Valve is going to release a benchmark before hl2 is released, i'm sure people are going to post scores of how well cards do. So base your decision off of that.
There is hardly any difference between the two, basically a few frames here and there, get whichever you wish. They will both run hl2 like a charm i'm sure. I myself have a 9800 pro, doesn't mean I wouldn't get nVidia though.
Well there is a sticky topic explaining it, basically Valve had a round table discussion where Mod makers came and asked questions regarding Source. It is over as of now, but there will be logs of it up soon.
I was kind of disappointed in the questions some people asked. Most had already been answered or were simply non-useful. But all in all it was a good read.
Well with the first HL I bought it like 6 months after it was out, and all I heard was how great MP was. But I did play the single player, almost beat it, but MP just attracted me alot more. This time though, I think I will play all the way through SP then play MP. I have played MP for the...
I can understand VU's standpoint if the reason for the delay is, in fact, to generate as much sales as possible from CS:CZ. Think about it, CS:CZ isn't by any means top of the line. Actually, from the looks of it, it's very dated. I wouldn't see any reason to buy CS:CZ (not that I have alot...
Well if it really is delayed, it shouldn't be that big of a surprise. Since there are virtually no other big titles coming out until 2004, it was a good decision (for money, not for the fans) to delay till holidays. At least we still get the game this year. Seeing as Valve is notorius for...
As some have said, if they ever do make a completly photo-realistic game, I doubt that I would be interested in it. I mean most people who play games, do it because it's a sort of escape from every day life. So I doubt there would be a very high demand for it. But I think the best game...
