I couldn't agree with you more; one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to music (and I hate fellow composers who fall into this trap as well) are the artists/composers/etc. that make their music dark/angry/atonal/weird/whiny/etc. for the sake of being dark/angry/atonal/weird/whiny/etc. It...
^A lot of good points made here.
I think the human race was in a catch-22 situation: either be destroyed by the Combine during the Seven Hours War, or be slowly leeched of humanity through the induction process of the Universal Union. Breen thought the latter would be the better option. I don't...
I would actually not prefer to skip White Forest at the beginning; Valve has a chance to do some amazing character development & drama regarding Eli's death (obviously with Alyx, but I'm even more interested to see the impact on Kleiner & Magnusson).
You can drill for minerals by having equipment in the ocean (such as oil rigs in the middle of the ocean, etc.); this is unnecessary.
It's harder to flee if you're on an island with no boats (more land means more of an ability for rebels to flee on foot).
This is true; if too much water...
I stopped here. I was under the impression that Chell was one of the girls taken from the Aperture "Bring You Daughter To Work Day", implying that she was a kid when GLaDOS first took her (hence her young age in Portal), but this could be as much bs as this theory.
I agree. After all, the Vort at the end of Freeman Pontifex mentions that he has to go kill some unhatched Advisors - the Vorts seem to be more knowledgeable about the Advisor's weaknesses. Don't know if this holds true when the Advisors are fully awake though.
Hee hee, thanks Breen. You're my hero.
In a way, yes he did save humanity in that he stepped up to be a leader so that the Combine wouldn't destroy all of humanity during the Seven Hours War. But at the same time, as he was leader, he was leading humanity into the gutter with the creation of...
I think you bring up a good point here; I personally think that taking down an Advisor will have to be a two-person job. While, at the end of EP2, one Advisor was busy about to kill Alyx, Dog jumps on it and is able to rip it a new asshole. It seems to me that in order to get past their power...
Unless the vort zombie could fire electro-bolts, then you could have a zombie with a long-range attack; we haven't really seen that since Opposing Force.
I think he saw letting the Combine take over the Earth as the only way for saving Earth. Plus, I think he thought that in order for the human race to achieve immortality & some of the other bs he was spouting, he thought that humans needed the Combine for that & that some sacrifices were...
Technically yes, but I know in some places you can get ticketed for passing on the right (I know, some cops are douches). It's more of an annoyance (and if they're going really slow, a hazard) if anything.
Hm, I'm having a problem running it - it starts up fine, and when I go to start a new game, it comes up with this error:
Host_Error: EV_Precache: file events/crowbar.sc missing from server
Not sure what to do here.
Yeah, I think it's because I already get pretty wicked motion sickness in cars & buses (buses are worse - the fumes drive me nuts). Never get it on planes though.
