Also what area of law enforcement are you interested in? There's quite a diverse selection available from the "bobby on the beat", to riot and crowd control, investigation, to CCTV operators to emergency call center and data centers to traffic police, to armed response units, forensics so on...
Guild Wars is incredibly efficiant, if your lagging bad in that I think WoW will be a very painful experience, its a bigger hog than GW.
Though what res, settings are you running at? If your trying to get the best quality/res your going to struggle regardless. Switch everything down to the...
You might be best trying with the voluntary police area then. It's pretty thankless work and while you look the part you don't get many of the benefits. But its good training out in the field, and looks good on a resume when applying for actual work in the force. I'd definately be prepared to...
You can work here for a while on some sort of visa IIRC, like in most countries. But it'll probably prevent you from taking specific types of work.
Your best bet is to simply contact them and ask questions. You might get lucky, you might not, but they will be the best people to speak to.
FYI...
hmm.. You've got access to the server itself now your an admin right? Would you be able to install one of those tiny apps that regularly check with other servers to setup the correct time. Then you can brag that the forum time is accurate within one billionth of a second from some atomic clock...
Yep, imagine the response if they had said nothing atall. Days go by, just normal days, some source update comes along, fixes some bugs, but completely fails to mention what the lost coast actually is thats just appeared in steam.. Cue thousands of posts, everyone trying to work it out.
Few...
Do you think if we're good little boys for Christmas they'll throw in the rooftop HDR scene aswell?
Agreed, this is part of the problem I mentioned elsewhere in the lost coast thread. Basically at this rate, by the time HL3 comes along, if its not completely photorealistic with all the bells...
But we know what it can do, its done HDR in some form or another since the stolen build, granted it didn't work right but it was there, then vanished for the actual release, then to appear again in DoD. If they wanted to show off what the engine was capable of when really put to the test, it...
I don't think Valve do have anything on the horizon beyond the lost coast and aftermath.
Lost Coast - inflicted with the same sort of hype that ruined the Phantom Menace. Too many are expecting something incredible and only seeing the hype not the details. Too many will end up being...
heh I dont mind atall, its no dream of mine.
Sure does make me wonder what the hell the point in Lost Coast is though. Like beating a dead horse tbh. It would have made sense as a teaser for a full HDR version of HL2, but without that it just seems a bit redundant. As an example of engine...
Was a GW player R/Mo R/E R/N R/W, 1,500 hours, 1.6 mil XP. Suddenly became bored of it weeks ago though. But for such a small company I'm very impressed with how they handle updates and so on. Though its always made me chuckle how GW's friends server can randomly go down for no reason, sounds...
If he was real he would have predicted all whats been happening in the US of late. I dunno, did he?
If he did and accurately then I'll believe he may have been genuine, otherwise I'll go with him being some bored kid from Barnsley
Couldn't agree with you more. It's great Steam is getting noticed finally.
But to put a devs pet project before business isn't a good thing. Unless your Mark Healey, in which case your gonna do great from this and just saved yourself a lot of time getting it noticed. I wish him luck with it...
It doesn't? ... *goes and finds out about it* ahh ok I see now.. It's basically just a pretty flashing light to distract people from the fact nothing else is actually happening. *shrugs* I would have been impressed had it been made by Valve to show Source is useful in other forms rather than the...
