    HL2.net, let's play Arma 2: Free

As far as I can tell...I have. It's weird.

I've just figured out what's going on with my microphone...it's recording whatever sound is being output from the system, rather than taking input from the microphone. :S

Yeah, it would only really work on weekends - but that would be ok. :)

    HL2.net, let's play Arma 2: Free

I downloaded it yesterday, I'll play. Any time that fits around normal working hours works for me generally, depending on what I'm doing. Bearing in mind I'm in the UK. Still need to figure out how to get my mic to work though. Damn Roccat Kave.

Yeah that Arma game sounds awesome, I'd be up for playing that. I can't get my microphone to work though and I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's incredibly annoying.

Haha. I'm permanently happy. :) But why make a thread about being content with things? I could spam the forums with threads about things I love, but it would be kind of lame and redundant. :P Of course it won't die...I suppose my complaint is not about consoles per se, it's about games...

Yeah ok, I'll admit - I was glued to it while I played it on my brother's Xbox. I spent a great deal of my week visiting home playing it. But...when I came away from it, I realised how much it sucked. The entire game boils down to "go to X planet, run through Y linear corridors and shoot...

Yeah, they might be available on PC, but that doesn't make them "PC games" by default. Just console games with a PC version. Big difference. That's like calling Quake 3 a console game because they released it on the Dreamcast. Mass Effect, for example, would undoubtedly have been a very...

    PC gaming

So...has the PC market been shrinking, or has the console market just exploded in popularity? There were loads of PC only "Triple-A" games a few years ago. Now, they're pretty rare... Hard Reset is interesting. It's a pretty mediocre game (fun though, for half an hour at a time), and it's...

I'll look into that, cheers. Yeah of course it could, but a lot of the things that were once exclusively the realm of the PC are now primarily the realm of consoles as well as all the things that were console-specific before. The only niche PCs have left are strategy games and flight...

Yeah. I didn't even know what DLC meant a few weeks ago...and it's an awful trend. Maybe some people are different, but I get little to no enjoyment out of playing something a couple of hours long. It's getting drawn into the overall experience that makes it fun. I suppose that's why I...

Perhaps the *number* of games isn't less, but something is definitely missing. PC only games are certainly a lot rarer than they used to be (well known ones, anyway). In the past a great deal of games came out only on PC either because console technology couldn't handle them, or because they...

    PC gaming

So...what the hell happened to PC gaming these last few years? The last time I was really into games was the HL2/Doom 3/UT2004/Oblivion/Battlefield 2 era. Haven't played games at all for years until I got my new PC about a month ago. Now, technologically...unbelievable. First time I...

    MW3 MP trailer

Multiplayer games are so shite these days. There hasn't been a good "proper" shooter since UT2004. And nobody plays that anymore. UT3 was the last game out that wasn't a crappy military game and it was utter garbage. I got me a brand spanking new PC and all I play online is Quake Live...

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

That doesn't surprise me. It does feel to me as if a lot of the original storyline has been cut and hurriedly pieced back together in shortened form. The first half of the game is damn near perfect, so it's a bit of a shame really. The original Deus Ex lost a significant amount of its spark...

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

Well, finished this afternoon after playing solidly since Sunday evening (what a well-timed and coincidental week off work...). Definitely the best game I have played in a very long time (caveat to that being I haven't really played any games in a few years, with the exception of both Mass...

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

Pre-ordered the one with the "Explosive Mission Pack". I was tempted to get the Augmented Edition but I couldn't find anywhere whether it allows you to turn off the extra 10,000 credits. That's a stupid addition. Anyway, it's a happy coincidence that the release date coincides with the...

    Self-motivation.

In order to go through the sacrifice of making any drastic changes to your lifestyle, you have to really, really want whatever it is you'll achieve at the other end. If you don't want it enough, you won't do it. To a large extent, it's that simple. The other aspect is that any large change...

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

Deus Ex is probably my favourite ever game. This one looks incredible, which is especially good as Invisible War was just awful. One of the deciding factors for me in getting a new rig to replace my seven year old piece of crap and start playing games again. Can't wait!
