A game like ARMA would be a good fit, as it already has freedom of vision and head tracking support. though I guess that falls into the Sim category as you say.
WarZ is the kind of thing 'The Asylum' would release if they moved into game design instead of movies.
It's great to see DayZ pushing forward though! I don't care how long they take, as long as they don't stop.
Is it possible to lose so much faith in humanity that you start going into negative figures? Because I swear I was already at zero and yet here we are.
It really depends on the game for me. About a month ago I had a fresh look at Ocarina of Time after rescuing my N64 when our attic roof collapsed. It was still amazingly enjoyable and I proceeded to play through the entire game. After that I went ahead and dug out Goldeneye to see if the same...

The most enjoyable setup I've had so far was a 2x Mantis boarding party with a Crew Teleporter. It was hugely...
I pledged $35. Obsidian deserve a chance to prove themselves without a publisher getting in the way, especially after that awful Metacritic nonsense with New Vegas.
I have to wonder how they go about budgeting the project though. How does an extra $300k create a new Race, Class and Companion...

As for the actual headcrab form.. robotic headcrabs already exist, slowly crawling into your nightmares...
The Citizen is a single entity with two body types and multiple heads. It wouldn't be possible to change each one individually without creating a mod that alters the entity dramatically, and probably recompiling all the maps.
