one thing that's really been bugging me lately, what exactly does G-man and his employers get paid with?
they must get some compensation, they don't do charity work and Breen even said to Gordon that his contract is open to the highest bidder, but what would G-man and his employers get paid...
this. i don't get why they didn't just work with the OBM people for deathmatch since they are making OP4s deathmatch. and that's basically the half-life deathmatch with extra weapons, CTF and maps
but I'm not interested in steam OS or the controller(though both look nice) the reason i want a steam machine laptop is it's nearly impossible to find a good, affordable gaming laptop with moderate specs. most of the stuff companies sell just comes with intel graphics which is terrible
so recently valve seems to be on very good terms with half-life mods, more specifically BMS where they are allowing them full access to the source engine and to be able to charge for the mod.
now I'm thinking, what if they took that a step forward and chose some half-life mods to be honorary...
some food for thought. how would you guys feel about other half-life related mods getting the same treatment as BMS?(can be retail and uses full engine) there are a lot of half-life mods that will hopefully be released remakes and otherwise. OBM, Guard Duty, Wilson Chronicles, Opposing Force 2...
well that's disappointing :( I wish that the Trip Mine and black mesa team would team up together and pool their assets together for the games, as well as some level design so the sections in the expansions that crossed will be recognizable to people who've played both remakes
yeah the guy deserves it. I was really surprised with just how fast he put the cut sections back into the game, I mean if i was with black mesa i would have asked the guy to join the team
at least they put effort into it, some of it may be misguided but they definitely earned the right to sell it with how much effort they put into it as long as they can fix their problems
now since valve time hasn't posted any news on the front page and i just added some information to the "minute with half-life" video and there still isn't a front page article, i figured I'd make this.
so basically, black mesa source will come to steam as a retail...
well textures and marine voice acting i think probably won't be changed sadly. I just for the love of god hope they go back to the original weapon and enemy balancing because i can't stand the changes they made.
If they don't i hope valve makes them put a disclosure on the game when it's...
15 years later and it's still aged gracefully :D
