I doubt that they arent going to gate it off. It wouldnt fit the "cs with better graphics and physics" Theme of the game. Not that I wouldnt Like to see it open.
with computer hardware as it is today, Its really hard to properly. I would like it see it as an option so 5-6 years from now(people will still be playing HL2 and its mods) when the hardware can do it, so can the game.
Alright. IT has been forever since I have done any gaming AT all. Close to a year. I quit playing when 1.6 came out because is was shitty and boreing, and I was(and still am) more interested in guitar. Schoole had just started, I didnt have time for everything, so I just kind of quit. Then I...
just let him waste his money, he has closed mind and wants too. the 5800 was one of the worst cards to ever come out(just thought i would remind you). No im not an ati fanboy, because that would be just stupid.
judging from all of the little tidbits ive heard, i belive that it will be a 9600 pro but with some major upgrades such as 8 piple lines. Im not sure though, so don't quote me on it.
i would say get the 9800np, espeacailly after seeing the preview benchmarks for HL2. From there you can flash the video card bios and end up with a 9800 pro.
It really depends on from where to where you are upgradeing. Upgrading from onboard to sb live or cmedia or whatever normally results in lower fps. And yes, i forgot about the audigy, seeing as how somtimes i forget people dont live in my little world where everyone knows exactly what im...
wait dude. athlon 64 is just a couple of weeks away. And its going to be about %40-%50 faster in dx9 games than p4, so yeah, wait just a few weeks. I personally would look for places to build it to your specs.
it really depends on your cas timing. if you have cl2 you could relax your timing and probally get to 200 if your ram is good. Other than that there isnt much else you can do.
a better soundcard normally results in lower fps as i understand it. I personally would get a 9800. You want to be able to run all of those dx9 features. Somtimes theres more to look at than fps.
That is pretty cool shit. I am not a big fan of useing 3dmark to benchmark cpu's seeing as how it is primarally a vga benchmark, but it does hold some importance. almost 600 fps in quake 3 is still cool.
i was wondering if anybody saw the athlon 64 "preview" from anandtech that they posted a few days back.
http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1856
they took a opteron clocked at 2.0 ghz and ran some bench marks. Gaming seemed to be the big winner for it to. about 40-50% faster than...
apple spends about 2/3 of their money it seems on how to make mac's look cooler. That is why i will never buy one, too flashy and overpriced. Plus they suck for games no matter what.
About opteron vs madison vs g5, sounds like a fight. Macs make great worksations as sombody said.
