ok, im going to start rammbleing again because thats what i tend to do.
If money isn't an major issue, then by all means, get a p4 3.0 800mgz, abit IC7-G mobo, 2x512 mg ddr400, radeon 9800 pro 128 mg. that should run you about $800 off the top of my head(probally wrong too). That is a great...
the cpu is a major problem. My brother has the same aged cpu and it causes him lots of problems. Upgrade there and you will be fine. A new motherboard could wait a little while.
I'm a stock cooled overclocker!
I need to get some case fans and a better heatsink. Christmas is just around the corner, so yeah, I'll try to cheap weezle my way out of paying for computer parts again.
Here is the thing. There is more preformace advantages for the athlon 64 than just the 64 bit. One major factor is that the athlon 64 features a 1 mb L2 cache. Also the motherboards will have more options.
to bad i still feel that you should wait. If you buy now, you will regret it 6...
There are a lot of good heatsinks around. However, i would suggest doing a thermalright sk-7 or sk-800 (depending on how much money you have) paired with a 80x80x38 tornado( or 92, take your pick). I wouldnt recomend the 900 because it is over a pound of copper by it self
(about .50 kg) and...
ugly ass case. Its gross.
I want one. now. please.
I would so mod it out and put like 10 tornado fans in there. can't beat 84.1 cfm. wait, yes i can. 2 120mm delta fans at 190cfm a peice.
thats pretty exciting. and i agree, the ATI vs Nivida fan base wars is so pointless. We should all be about what card is better for the price, not which company makes it. Same thing with cpu's. Don't become a mindless drone for a company because you own somthing of theirs, or just heard...
if you don't know how to overclock your cpu, dont ask for sombody to tell you. Search around and find out how from helpfull websites. This way you learn what you would need to in the process of searching and hopefully wont **** things up too much.
a faster front side bus is indeed overrated, but not by much. The key is to keep the FSB and your memory speed equal. If you do this, then your cpu cycles will line up with the ram cycles, which makes for much steady preformance.
the A7N8X-DX is probally the best amd board on the market. However, if money is tight, the epox 8rda+ is a very basic motherboard and works like a charm for me. And there are a million options inbetween. I would suggest NOT getting kt-400. They are out dated and lack dual channel memory...
i wouldnt take a 2700+ and overclock it for a number or reasons. First off, it's a bit more expensive than the 2500. Then there is the fact that it is based on the tbred core, not the barton. the tbred has a 256k L2 (or L1, i can't remember) while the barton has a 512k. This makes a huge...
I think you could do the move all from the prespective of freeman, then it would sort of be cool. I would probally go see 3 months after it came out at the theater down the hill from where i live. 5 dollars and you get a bag of popcorn and a soda.
I was having the same problem. Well, if you have any forecent tubes/bulbs on that can contribute to your problem. Because they blink out of sink with each other, it produce those lines. I dont know if thats your problem, but i hope it helps sombody.
