Speaking of shotguns, the SPAS 12 shotgun you get later in the game is a beast. It's semi automatic, has a long effective range and it can kill anything 1-2 hits (about 3-4 hits for a heavy).
Finished it. Still have outposts to harass and side quests to do though.
All the story's twists later on are predictable, including the "endgame".
However, all in all a great game. The only thing I hate are all the quick time events peppered through the story campaign.
Buildings are not destructible. Wood houses are flammable though, so you can set them on fire with molotovs.
Some objects like fences, and furniture are destructible, but that's about it.
Also, it's not made by the same guys that made Crysis. The Far Cry series is no longer developed by...
One time, while I was slowly making my way to a vantage point, the caged tiger in the outpost got out all by itself.
It killed everyone and I go the "undetected" rating without actually doing anything.
Huh? There is fast travel.
Each outpost you liberate becomes a fast travel station. All you have to do is open the map, click on one of the outpost markers and you're there.
Oh, and I just had a Rambo moment in the last mission, where I had to defend some guy in a house against wave after...
I've been playing it for a while now and this game is fantastic. It takes everything that was good from the previous two games and then expands on it. So, for me, Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2 are the best FPS games of 2012.
Really?
Among other things they did RTCW: Enemy Territory, and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
As for this game, meh, boring. There a lot of free to play FPS that look almost identical to this.
Not to mention that I don't agree with the FTP model at all, I'd rather pay and get the full game.
Sigh... that article is a year old.
But anyway here's what I would want in a sequel:
- Keep the art style
- Rehire Solar Fields to do the soundtrack
- Make the game openworld, with the entire city explorable
- Add an enhanced melee system with more kung-fu moves
- Keep it in first person. I...
Yeah, the kids are annoying, and as for Harrison the writers seem to have no idea what to do with him, at all.
Since they are all so conveniently placed under one roof, it would be a good time someone to kill everyone.
